Psychometric Testing & Assessments Case Studies
The Problem:
We were contacted by an international company who required our assistance in addressing their excessively high staff turnover within their sales department. Regardless of a candidate's track record and work experience, they were finding that majority of their newly appointed staff were not meeting targets and after several months, resigned on their own accord due to work pressure.
Our Solution:
Firstly, we implemented MTQ48 as an initial screening assessment tool. We assessed their top sales people and ascertained that they all scored high on MTQ48, indicating that they were resilient and could handle pressure, evident in a sales environment. Given that the MTQ48 assessment is quick to administer (7 minutes online) and cost effective, potential candidates were assessed as part of their initial screening process. Although MTQ48 was designed to be used as a development tool, using this assessment in conjunction with the Prevue assessment, proved to be a winning formula.
Secondly, we implemented the Prevue assessment. Good and poor performers were assessed and benchmarks were constructed based on these findings. Short-listed candidates, who passed the initial MTQ48 screening process, were then assessed on Prevue. Taking into account their Abilities, Personality and Interests, they were matched to the pre-determined performance based benchmarks. Good-fit candidates were employed and suffice to say, their staff turnover "problem" no longer exists.
Our third intervention was to introduce the ILM72 assessment to ascertain whether their sales managers across the country possessed similar leadership styles. An organisational development report was produced, detailing each individual score across a range of leadership scales. The findings indicated that in several areas, leadership style was not consistent with each other, resulting in conflicting company objectives. Development suggestions were identified and a training intervention was put in place to address these areas.
